In this Showmax-Mzansi Magic co-production, SAFTA-winner Presley Chweneyagae (Tsotsi) and SAFTA-nominee S’dumo Mtshali (Isibaya) reprise their roles as cops Shoes and Chilli from Donovan Marsh’s award-winning film of the same name. In the gritty spinoff series, Chilli infiltrates an infamous crime family to bring down an untouchable

Rapulana Seiphemo won Best Actor Awards at both Durban and FESPACO for his role as Lucky Kunene, infamous for hijacking buildings in Hillbrow. The crime thriller was South Africa's official entry for the Oscars and won the Audience Award at Durban, among other accolades. Jerusalema will be available on Showmax from 05 October 2017. South African Celia Boba was nominated for an Oscar for her work set-decorating this updated classic, about a disfigured musical genius (Gerard Butler) who plots to seduce a famous singer (Emmy Rossum in a Golden Globe-nominated performance) away from her attractive benefactor (Golden Globe nominee Patrick Wilson). The Phantom Of The Operawill be available on Showmax from 09 October 2017. Co-produced by Showmax and kykNET, Waterfront is a star-studded family noir set in the dark underbelly of one of South Africa’s most popular tourist attractions. Boat-building patriarch Ben Myburgh (SAFTA nominee Dawid Minnaar) is dead. This brings his three daughters - Julia (Die Byl’s Milan Murray), Anna (Silwerskerm and Fleur du Cap nominee Rolanda Marais) and Kate (Die Boekklub’s Trix Vivier) - back to the family business at the Cape Town harbour. The tenth anniversary season of kykNET’s hit matchmaking show is coming express to Showmax within 24 hours of airing on DStv. Join host Minki van der Westhuizen as she helps farmers find true love and revisits some of the couples and children who wouldn’t have existed if not for the show. The first film shot at Cape Town Film Studios, Dredd starred Karl Urban (Star Trek) as a police officer authorised to act as judge, jury and executioner in a dystopian megacity. Look out for Game of Thrones star Lena Headey in Cersei Lannister mode as gang leader Ma-Ma. Filmed in South Africa with Kalahari Pictures, Dredd won Best 3D at the Empire magazine awards, where it was also nominated as Best Science Fiction / Fantasy and Best British Film. Dredd will be available on Showmax from 16 October 2017.
